Task

The Carlsberg communication, which was based on stating the obvious in a creative way, had been doing great until we made one mistake. An observant ornithologist publicly commented that the bird, which had been called a seagull in the Carlsberg ad, was not a seagull at all. We therefore had to react fast and use this mistake to the benefit of our client.

Solution

In a few hours, we created and shared a new layout on the client’s Facebook page, admitting that “Probably, ornithologists have a good eye”. This matched the Carlsberg slogan: “Probably, the best beer in the world”.

The post attracted a positive reaction and was noticed by the biggest Lithuanian advertising blog Dansu, which showcased this ad as an example of effective and quick communication. The largest Lithuanian news portal Delfi.lt also shared an article analysing this case.
